From humble beginnings on the East Side of Manhattan, Solgar has grown into one of the industry’s oldest and most respected researchers and manufacturers of nutritional supplements, available in health food stores across the world. For over 56 years the science of nutrition and comprehensive education programs have been as crucial to the company as the high-quality botanicals, vitamins and minerals in their formulas.
Solgar owns its own manufacturing facility in New York, which means it can guarantee the quality, purity, potency and activity of every nutrient. The raw materials are quarantined before they reach Solgar’s manufacturing facility and a full spectrum of microbiological and chemical testing is conducted on every batch to determine the purity, potency and identity of each ingredient. In 1996, Solgar introduced the first multi-vitamin with a substantial phytonutrient blend called Omnium. All of Solgar’s products, from the bottles to the crate packing, are all recyclable materials. They are even delivered to the trade as Carbon Neutral deliveries and Solgar has planted over 7,000 trees in the last 2 years to counter the carbon emissions from its UK deliveries and company cars. Solgar has invested $20 million in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility over the past 4 years.
