Description:
Ginseng was given the botanical name Panax, a word derived from the Greek word 'Panacea' meaning 'cure all' which demonstartes the importance of Ginseng in traditional medicine. Native to North America, Panax quinquefolius is now exported to Asia where it has a different use from the native Asian Ginseng. IT is valued in Asia for its Yin properties and is said to have a cooling effect. This cooling effect is less stimulatory and more relaxing in comparison to Asain Ginseng and is the reason why this gentler variety is often given to older people and children. Oregons Wild Harvest now include Organic American Ginseng Root in their formula.
