Catarrh
DESCRIPTION
Catarrh refers to any Inflammation of a mucous membrane,
caused by one of many factors, including the Common Cold.
The symptoms of catarrh are well known to most people -
progressive nasal obstruction, Inflammation of mucous pasSage ways,
Polyps on mucous membranes, and Coughing.
Catarrh can be caused
by five conditions - Hay Fever, cold viruses, rhinitis (Inflammation
of nasal pasSage s), Bronchitis (Inflammation of bronchial
pasSage s), and tracheitis (Inflammation of the trachea).

HOMOEOPATHY
Usually follows an attack of the Common Cold. It may be
necessary to change from a medicine for the "Common
Cold" symptoms to one more suited to Sinusitis.
Silicea
Drawing or throbbing Pain in sinuses.
Pain worse in bones at top of nose and above Eyes.
Little discharge, feels stuffed up.
Associated frontal Headaches.
Kali. bich.
Typical Pain at the root of the nose.
Stringy, elastic discharge, often with a foul smell.
Loss of sense of smell and Headache.
Dripping down the back of the nose.
Pulsatilla
Fluid yellowish discharge, can have green crusts.
One moment stuffed up, the next moment runny.
Markedly better outdoors.
Frontal Headache with confused feeling.
Later stages of a cold with yellow green catarrh.
Hepar sulph.
Painful and stuffed up nose.
Discharge yellow, can smell like old cheese.
Face and nasal bones extremely tender to touch.
Hypersensitive and irritable.
Belladonna
Sudden onset of Sinusitis with fever.
Usually affects sinuses below the cheekbones.
Face hot, throbbing Pain.
Markedly worse if leaning forward.
Merc sol.
Severe Sore Throat with coated tonsils and tongue, and Bad
breath.
Infected nasal catarrh, and chesty Cough with green phlegm.
